Cinque Terre Outdoor

Nature, culture and enogastronomy to the Cinque Terre

Cinque Terre, destination among the most coveted and preferred in Italy, a jewel of the ‘’Belpaese’’ that only our Liguria has the good fortune to boast.

They develops along a stretch of coast and its name is due to five picturesque villages overlooking the Ligurian Sea: they are, from west to east, Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore, all UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Each village of the Cinque Terre has its own charm, but they are all united by typical Ligurian characteristics, such as narrow colored streets, houses that cling to the hills and terraces of vineyards overlooking the sea, and are interspersed with hidden creeks, majestic cliffs and rocky headlands, forming a breathtaking coastal landscape, bathed by a clear sea.

The villages are connected by the Sentiero Azzurro, a walk of about 600 meters in height: it is in turn divided into sections, including the famous Via dell’Amore between Manarola and Riomaggiore.

Referring back to the subject of vineyards, the technique used for their cultivation, through terraces bordered by dry stone walls, is considered a world heritage site: these areas are accessible for visits and you must taste the fine wines made, such as Cinque Terre Bianco DOC and Sciacchetrà.

Also from a historical and cultural point of view, the Cinque Terre does not lack anything: the Church of San Giovanni Battista and the Statua del Gigante in Monterosso; the Doria Castle and the Church of Santa Margherita di Antiochia in Vernazza; the Presepe of Manarola; the Castle of Riomaggiore.
